Oh, so that's an Editorial Board. Looks like the actual editor of the paper and professional journalists and one community member for the San Mateo Times. So what's ours? Where's Elaine and the staff? Were they included but not credited? Or, is this some other kind of board? Future role on other issues like outsourcing, OWWTP, new library, highway 1?? You professional communicators in charge need to start communicating. Answer the public's questions rather than creating more.

The Tribune is being as strange as our city council.
It was a surprise to me that I voted the same as Bay Area News Group/Mercury New/San Mateo County Times Editorial Board where they made recommendations, except for 4th district Supervisor. Both Shelly Masur and Warren Slocum seem to be qualified candidates, but I liked Warren Slocum's background, and interest in the budget and "streamlining government" better.
Careful Kathy! That might qualify you to be on an Editorial Board, if only in Pacifica.
@502 please see 450. If this "strangeness" continues beyond this election we might also want to visit the dictionary for a definition of propaganda. Hey, these well-intentioned board members will work cheaper than any PR firm the city could hire to improve communication and build consensus. Give it time.

The internet Editorial Board disclosure wasn't perfect on this one either, but it was perfect in the SM Times newspaper print edition, 11/4/12, page A12.

Thus no one cares about Pacifica!
Relax 623 they also didn't mention any other council races. Although, we should not assume from this that anyone, anywhere, actually gives a plover pattie about Pacifica. When a town is as hellbent on self-destruction as this one there's not a whole lot outsiders can do.
The Tribune really F'd up this one. Editorial Board my ass. I think Elaine was out sick and John Mayberry took advantage of the situation to pick people who would choose his man Rich Campbell. The whole thing stinks.
Enough to make anybody sick.

The editorial board for the Tribune was in place before Elaine went out on sick leave.
The Times board, which is really the Merc's board, has nothing to do with the Trib.

anon 1151 Was anyone saying the Times' Editorial Board has anything to do with the Trib's Board? I think the point being made kinda/sorta was that the Times' Editorial Board/Merc's, unlike the Trib's, is made up of the newspaper editorial staff and one community member. The Trib seems heavy on community members. Doesn't that indicate a different role? May we expect future PR-like endorsements and cheerleading for this and that? They may not be the source of Elaine Larsen's illness but they haven't been around very long.
