Dinah's Letter to the Editor

Editor:

I am voting for Rich Campbell for the two-year Pacifica City Council seat, and Karen Ervin and Mary Ann Nihart for the four-year seats. I have talked in depth with these individuals, and am impressed by the knowledge, skills and experience each one of them brings to the table.
Campbell is uniquely qualified to get our commercial development on track with reasonable, smart growth. His background as a land use attorney representing large developers, combined with his environmental credentials as an Environmental Protection Agency attorney and in-depth knowledge of planning as a planning commissioner, are what we need to get our economy going.
Karen Ervin, a scientist, former school board trustee and member of the city Financing Services Task Force, has a thorough understanding of the city's financial issues and knows how to balance budgets. She has demonstrated the ability to study issues and carefully consider all sides.
Incumbent Mary Ann Nihart has put her heart and soul into improving our city. Her efforts have begun to bear fruit as we have seen budgetary improvements and new businesses opening in Pacifica during her term. We need her experience as we transition into the next term.
Please vote for Rich, Karen and Mary Ann.

Any sane candidate would run as far away as they could from this endorsement. Her and her band of nobies have done more to shackle this city to poverty than any other factor. That she so enthusiatically gushes over Campbell is a testament to the direction he will go and who his puppet masters are. If you think Curtis, Loeb, Bohner, Leone, Hall, Davidson, and the rest of that band of obstructionists are the answer to our own fiscal cliff, you are sadly mistaken, or you're Sue Digre.
It's time for the adults to take back our council. O'Neill will bring experience and common sense back to council. O'Neill for council.

Forget the endorsement, Larry. No surprise there. Run from these candidates. Haven't we learned anything? We need Mike O'Neill. If the city has a coin, you can toss it a couple times for the other seats.

If Pacifica votes in this council on the advise of the nobees who bankrupted the town, Pacifica deserves to be dirty dusty broke down and bankrupt.

Ms. Verby says re Nihart "...new businesses opening in Pacifica during her term." Yeah, and the sun came up every day. Nihart had nothing to do with either.

Verby for Vreeland. Verby for Campbell.
No difference, same result.
Bankrupt Pacifica.

I am voting for Campbell. I believe he has the best ability to change our town without selling its soul. As a planning commissioner Rich tried to have the Zoning changed upon sale from industrial to mixed use for certain parcels along Palmetto. It didn't pass but this is the kind of thinking Pacifica needs. I am Sure most of you on this blog disagree with me, but I think Rich represents our best chance for Pacifica's future.

Rich Campbell cannot vote on anything the EPA has an interest in. The EPA ethics officer will bar him from becoming involved. Remember Vreeland stepped down from anything the EPA and even all agencies of the US gov't might get involved in.
Campbell will be the empty suit.

Prove your statement and don't dredge up what you think you know about Vreeland or anyone else. Surely you have some official source you can share with us. I'm voting for O'Neill but random speculation is not helpful to anyone still trying to decide.
