Uh! an amphitheater? an open aired one? in Pacifica?
What kind of sound pollution is to be expected?
If we could have sound with the nobies quotes on this stream, that would be cool. Maybe a dirge as Pacifica sinks in the ocean. The cacophony of noise from the flower children should be deafening, all chanting "no nothing, no nothing".
That ain't just the nobies. That the everybodys.
Does this mean Nancy Hall finally gets her amphitheater?
As a matter of fact, yes. Just think of the Christmas Sing-a-long.
Where's the ice skating rink the chamber was touting?
The commercial space is too small, and the wetlands will be an issue. The City is supposed to fill those in to close out their development permit for the wastewater treatment plant, per the Coastal Commission hearing for Nancy Hall's personal biodiesel plant. Wonder how they are going to get around that?
Trinket shops and housing aren't going to create much revenue for the city from this prized parcel. Of course, the housing element is essential to the developer to make his money. He's not running a charity. Can we get a bigger hotel out of this? That would make real money for this town!
Dogs will be banned. That's a big fat NO from me on the Quarry.
Off leash dogs and mounds of dog poop are incompatible with development. Oh boohoo.
What is the actual built-up area in sqft or acreage?
That is, the actual gross construction footprint for the hotel, live/work apts + shopping, the amphitheater and the bungalows?
Sorry this will never pencil out.

I'm playing cynic here: What happens all the time is that developers give cities a "carrot" in order to get the trojan horse in the castle. Sure they will build the housing, but will they build the hotel? Will they build the commercial? What might happen is that they will only build the housing and then try to spin off the hotel/commercial sites to someone else, who after 5 years will come back and say "hotel/commercial really doesnt work here...how about some apartments?". In this case, they will say that they cannot afford the wetlands restoration and other environmental work, and then go bankrupt. The City out to make a phasing program that makes it impossible to pull their residential permits unless they do the restoration and pull the hotel permits first. Might Holiday Inn by dragging their feet on the 35 room addition while they see hotels at Beach Blvd and at the Quarry on the horizon? Is there really that much demand for 200 more hotels here in Pacifica?

The Holiday Inn expansion start was delayed over one year thanks to Todd Bray filing an appeal to the Coastal Commission.
I suppose the HIE owner would thank their lucky Bray if there was a glut of hotel rooms in the Quarry/Rockaway area, but since this Quarry thing will never be built there's no need to thank Bray. Whew!
3:53 the owners of the Holiday Inn Express should have sued him to get back all the money they lost.
Uh Oh here come the clown cars and they are loaded with the same gang of idiots who's favorite sport is wrecking Pacifica for their own selfish gain. Bray, Curtis (if he's still alive), Lancelle, deJarnutt, Digre, Keener, Loeb, Verby, Goldstein, Casillas, Hall, and all the rest will be jumping on the bandwagon to kill this in it's entirety. Count on it.

No worries. The faux-enviros already have this covered. Too many people and the wrong kind of amplified music might traumatize the frogs. The mellifluous melodies of Loeb and Hall will of course be exempt.

A petition was taken out this week by the attornies for the quarry property owner. They used Mike Mooney as a shill. The petition promises a bunch of hoo ha, just like Peebles and Trammell Crows failed attempts to get housing approved by the voters did.
This coming November please remember the ballot measure will be about allowing housing in the quarry, nothing more, nothing less. All the wetlands, open space etc is just window dressing to get housing approvedby us the voters. None of the accompanying promises will be binding, but what will be binding is a yes vote for housing.
Please keep this in mind as you start to receive expensive flyers in your mail over the coming months
I have no objection to the housing, Todd. (That poison pill should never have been put there in the first place.) What I do object to is that there isn't even an attempt to make 75% of it revenue producing, leaving it as a dog park instead. Insanity! No way will I vote for that, so there's no need to get yourself excited about it - it's DOA.
i think there may be a natural wetland underneath the homes of loeb and hall. maybe they should tear down there homes and check it out, saving the natural habital should start at their very own home. and maybe they should mind their own bussiness, and let the city build
