The city cannot do this. Basically, the property is zoned VLDR for a lot size that does not confirm to VLDR specified lot size (.5 acre+). So, there is a zoning inconsistency that is manifest because of the actions of the city. The owner of the land is not at fault here.
This is a ploy to deny the permit. And constitutes "taking" of the property by the city. I think there is a legal case here. And exposure for the city.
I hope the city gets sued. And sued big time.
i believe the commissioners went with the recommendation to DENY.
Of course they did. These guys don't have the balls to stand up to the NIMBY-Nazis.
Look how Commandant Casillas' project just sailed right through even though it is a giant energy hog home for just two people and requires several variances. If you haven't driven on Pedro Point lately you should. The streets are so bad that they are nearly impassable particularly in the area of the project at 135 Stanley.
Funny how this is one of arguments being used by the hypocritical enviro-gangsters to prevent the applicant from building in the Rockaway Valley.
I would also urge everyone to take a drive to the end of Rockaway Beach Blvd. It's very pretty indeed. Ironically what will jump out at you is that the majority of the homes are very large (as in way bigger then the typical Linda Mar rancher).

Once again the field is tilted in favor of the faux-enviros whose real goal is to protect their "I got mine" ideology. They simply do not care how much it costs other people or the City of Pacifica as long as they get their way.
Todd, yeah. And they haven't been able to explain the grounds for denial. As a matter of fact, the commission stated on record that they would be open to considering approving the plan IF "certain" changes were made?
What are these "changes"? Can the commission prove the applicants are being unreasonable and acting beyond the scope of precedents in the area?
Also, the commission implied that LDR desgination was NOT required. So why are the applicants being made to run pillar to post? The city screwed up. Lots that DO NOT confirm to VLDR ended up zoned as VLDR. And it is entirely on the city to resolve that AT NO COST to the landowners.
The city has with demonstrable intent subjected the applicant to emotional grief and material loss. I sincerely hope the applicants sue the city.
