Our military troops are a long way from home,
this is our opportunity to remember them during the holidays

"The American Legion will be gathering on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. to send care packages to our military troops serving overseas.

If you would like to donate or know a group who wants to collect items, we are in need of snack items such as beef jerky, peanuts, fruit roll ups, gum, individually packaged assorted nuts, breakfast bars, canned tuna, Crystal light powder packets for their water bottles, sunflower seeds, tootsie pops, small packets of baby wipes, shaving cream, shaving razors, liquid hand sanitizer, Tylenol/Advil, nose drops, small packets of Q-tips, stick deodorants, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, white athletic socks, batteries (size AA and D) and playing cards.

You can bring your donation to the American Legion Hall at 11 a.m. on Nov. 9 or you can drop your donations off at one of the following collection sites no later than Nov. 5: City Arms Gun Shop or Oceana Market.
