No problem with traffic in Pacifica, unless you commute. Few jobs in Pacifica, so commuting is necessary. Fixing a 1.3 mile traffic bottleneck, 30 years and counting.... rocket science? |
Pacifica Tribune Letters to the Editor. "Planning--Pacifica Style" by Chris Gabrielli
"The International Space station, orbiting
this planet, took seven years to build, launch and link together in space.
Pacifica talks for 30 years about a known commute and safety hazard on Hwy 1
and nothing is built.
And now we have opponents urging buses no one takes,
school start time changes that have been rejected and walk-to-work which is
silly. Oh, traffic light timing which the traffic light timing company says
will not work. Perfect!"

That was an excellent letter to the editor. The Tribune should have a "
Best of Letters" Award at the end of the year.
I agree that was a great letter. Clear, accurate and and effectively discounts all the nobys agrguments.
I would encourage those of you that have a different point of view other than "no nothing, no how, no where" check in as well with letters to the trib. I'm sure there will be a slew of letters next week thrashing Mary, Darlene, and Chris. Time for us, the majority of Pacificans, to voice some common sense in this town.
The people who like to tell city council what to do, should run for office.
Another vote for democracy at 1231. Don't tell him.
Thank goodness the link in this post goes to the 2/26 online version of the Letters to the Editor. The letters on 2/26 are indeed excellent, clearly calling out that the "traffic nightmare" is experienced for a fraction of a time in the day. These letters from Pacifican's with common sense realize that spending millions of dollars to widen for a mile and then contract the highway is not a solution. Paired in the printed version of the Tribune with a recap of the recent report, commissioned by an independent agency by the State of California, on CalTrans that highlights the need for major change in that agency only bolsters the concerns for the highway widening plan that has been put forth.
huh?
And earthquakes only last for a few seconds every few years - why worry about them?
Hahaha
Bray was schooled today. Front page in the Pacifica Tribune.

Hahahaha
Traffic wasn't bad this morning. What the heck do you want? We live in a coastal town. Like most coastal towns , going in and out is slow moving. For a reason. Don't run over granny walking her grandson to school. Fix the dang highway. Too many potholes. Put overpasses in for granny. There is room. I scan the scenery every morning. I don't know what all the fuss is. So simple.
232 We're not all trying to solve the same problem. Start there. Love the granny overpass idea. Make it a gentle incline with a long approach, please.
118 Radha Patel had plenty to say, right to the point and very smart without getting ugly about it. C'mon City Council, put wings on those permits.
