Any Fresh & Easy reviews?

I haven't been there yet, and was curious.

Was Vreeland there with his hard hat? He's so handsome.

I was there last night, and the place was absolutely packed! Moving through the aisles was only slightly less difficult than finding a parking spot outside, but I'm sure that these things will ease up as the novelty wears off.

Interesting selection, and the prices seemed good - with the exception of a couple of things I know to be cheaper at Pak'n'Save. A lot of friendly staff on hand, but that, again, could be just an opening day thing. Haven't opened the $1.99 Australian wine (F&E's answer to two-buck chuck?) yet, but I'm sure it'll be just wonderful!!

I heard that they hired no one from Pacifica.

Anon, if true I wonder if anyone from Pacifica applied. Why wouldn't they want to hire local?
Needs to be seen.

Anonymous you right They didn't hired no one from Pacifica. The same thing happened with Walgreen's too. Teens looking for jobs. There is no hope for them. As a mother of three teens I feel that they should have at least a percent of the citizens working in any new place new . Still nothing is helping our TEENS. SAD SAD SAD.

I find it almost impossible to believe that nobody from Pacifica was hired.

We'll be needing a report on the $1.99 wine Laurie.

It's a nice enough store, a poor mans Trader Joe's. Because of the staggering volume of shoppers the management set up a disney style waiting line for folks that were checking out which was understandably long but as the novelty wears off like Laurie suggests it will all settle down to a manageable ebb and flow I'd bet.

The staff looked like they were all seasoned Fresh and Easy grocery professionals and as the store comes more and more on line I'm sure it will hire local kids to train. Hopefully.

Bought a box of squash ravioli for 3.99 that was excellent. We did it in sage butter, parmesan.
A one lb. box and half of it is still left.

Self-checkout is a bit weird, Lowe's has it also. Saving labor costs?

Fresh and Easy did hire from Pacifica. I saw them and said "hi".

I enjoyed shopping there on opening day and will go back. Safeway will still be the main store, only because they have so much more, but for a quickie meal and charcoal, it will be much easier for beach visitors who picnic. Now we just need to pave the parking lot and spuce up the trails around the area.

I think it is the right kind of store for that location and I wish them success and long life in Pacifica.

There's a link with reviews of the store in this article in the Fresh & Easy Buzz:

http://freshneasybuzz.blogspot.com/search/label/Fresh%20and%20Easy%20Northern%20California

It's at the very top in the caption under the pic.

Also some interesting stuff about the union and the Pedro Point Fresh & Easy here: http://freshneasybuzz.blogspot.com/2011/03/northern-california-launch-tescos-fresh.html

I stopped in in the afternoon when the store opened on March 9 and the union peeps were pretty aggressive and handing out brochures and such.

I'm not far from the store so it's convenient. But not overwhelmed by it. Will continue to do most of our grocery shopping at Safeway and P Farmers Market and a little at the Fresh & Easy.

Regarding Jim Vreeland, a person who lives in the neighborhood and knows him pretty well told me he is pretty ill. Why he has been out.
