Haven't known Sue for long because I'm a relative newbie to Pacifica, but I like her level-headed, down-to-earth approach. She's definitely not an extremist and isn't hiding her agenda, which is refreshing. She also seems to have the backing of elected officials at other levels of government which is important given our city's fiscal constraints. And I like that labor is backing her. To me, the local tradesmen are the heart and soul of Pacifica. Great to see they are with Sue.

Absolutely! Sue Vaterlaus is the real deal. She says what she means and she means what she says. She has the maturity and the experience needed to work hard on our behalf. She looks out for the little guy. She's honest. She's a realist.

Sue didn't sell her soul to the "gang of no" like Deidree did.

Sorry but for anyone to get elected they have to be firmly loyal to Peter Loeb, and his goons.

10:16, your endless whining and cynicism gets old.

10:16 You are very correct. If the normal people don't vote in this election, Deirdre wins and Pacifica is screwed.

The "gang of no" have run Pacifica since the 1970's.

7:32 That explains why Pacifica is soooooo fucked up.

You win!!

Winner winner chicken dinner.

in the 70's Pacifica was run by the corrupt gang of Nick Gust, Grace McCarthy, Stan Farber and others

Go back and re-read your Pacifica History. John Curtis and his "save the hills" and "friends of the hills" started in the 1970's.

With their goons, Fred Howard and Peter Loeb on City Council.

wrong again 12:23. The Friends of Pacifica weren't on the council until the 80's. In the 70's the council was run by Nick Gust and his minions.

I never heard anyone put together "Corrupt Gang" and "Grace McCarthy" before. You must not have been lucky enough to know this fine lady.

Kathy Meeh ("Minion" for City progress) said...

146, the difference is Nick Gust, etc. (mentioned by 11:23) supported the development of City infrastructure. And City progress did happen then.
Whereas, those to called themselves "Friends" blocked continued City infrastructure development, while supporting the transfer productive space to permanent empty space-- just as they're doing now.
And from "Friends (not)" advocacy for turning what's left of this City into rural County land, no City at all-- well, such NIMBY ideology is not "friendly" to the City or to the general needs of our population. They cause havoc, don't vote for any of them!

Dictionary.com/Minion. "Noun: 1) a servile follower or subordinate of a person in power; 2) a favored or highly regarded person; 3) a minor official; 4) Printing, a 7-point type. Adjective: 5) dainty; elegant; trim; pretty."

Vocabulary.com/NIMBY. "A NIMBY is someone who's opposed to an organization, building, or project being located too close to where they live. NIMBY stands for "not in my backyard."
Or, Business Dictionary.com/NIMBY. "Not in my backyard (NIMBY). Situation where one or more members of a community oppose establishment of an inherently undesirable project (such as a hazardous waste dump or radioactive material storage), or an otherwise desirable project (such as a school or shopping center), too close to their homes from fear of its negative consequences. Abbreviated NIMBY."

When Nick, Stan Farber, Grace and Jean Fassler were on city council, the city was prosperous.

At one time Pacifica had a movie theatre, Seaview.

Two auto dealerships Ed Cordero Chevy and The Dodge Dealer where Ace Hardware is on Pedro Point.

Police and Fire were fully staffed.

Roads were maintained and fixed when pot holes started.

7:36 Believe it or not there was a time when the radical faux-enviros did not rule in Pacifica. there was a time when our city was functional, economically viable and supportive of young families building American dreams. After 30 plus years of their destructive NIMBY policies, the radical faux-enviros have almost succeeded at turning our town into a dirty, broken down commune waiting for government assistance. This is a shameful legacy that the normal people have to put a stop to. We want our town back.

Well good grief, just come out and say it you nostalgic ninnies... Make Pacifica Great Again! Where do I get my snazzy red baseball hat?

Kathy Meeh (Memo to NIMBY) said...

135, "good grief.. ninnies...Trump", seriously? Here's the antidote: "think progress".

Have a good day to those intent on improving our City!

1:35 Good grief, such a stereotypical statement. Ironically you are the best thing Trump has going for him, low information, narrow minded and illogical voters.

826 After 40 plus years of watching the worm turn in Pacifica, I find your and Ms. Meeh's response so predictable, so in character. In this uncertain, chaotic world, you guys are a warm fuzzy. Or an old shoe.

9:54 Of course our comments are in character and predictable. It's the truth.
NIMBY's have completely fucked up Pacifica and there is no sign that they intend to stop.
They vote ans sue against everything and anything that could help our town. They want Pacifica to remain as a run-down, non-attractive to tourists and dysfunctional town. This gives them the security that we will remain a government hand-out city which protects their "I got mine" world view.
Now they are pushing their next puppet to help them regain a majority on council. They know they can instruct Keener, Digre and Martin to vote the way they want. WAKE UP PACIFICA
