Let's see how long it takes for the NIMBYs to start complaining about this one.

Apparently, they won't rest until this town's a ghost town.

Any alternative to Safeway is fine by me.

Think of Grocery Outlet as a supplement to Safeway, not a replacement.

I think of Grocery Outlet (or any other grocery store) as a replacement for Safeway's produce section. Safeway prices are very high and the quality is poor.

Actually I was, hoping to step it up a notch. Whole food's smaller Market. I went into a luckys California and was disappointed. Just wider aisles and bright colors.

Yosemite Sam and the Pedro pointers are going to have a fit.

This is fabulous news. More choices and there are plenty of Pacificans and Coastsiders and even Pedro Pointers who won't turn up their noses at this option. Pleasant surprise after reading on here that it wouldn't happen. Must have been some other discount grocery they were referring to, right?

Now this a complete waste of opportunity. Just build another storey have a nice Ocean View Bar/Restaurant above and smaller eateries beach stores on the bottom floor.

If you're truly a libertarian, then you should take the opportunity and go build another "storey" and open your dream restaurant. Pecking away on this website and wishing for things to happen is a fool's errand.

"Storey" is British usage. But that is irrelevant to the current thread. As it is, I have enough in life to keep me occupied.

However, if I had the money, I have a lot of ideas that could take flight. And I am sure, so do most people. But since I don't, I shall be content sharing my wisdom, doling out free advice and keep on believing in whatever it is I believe in.

I hope that is 'OK' with you.

Cor, blimey! Let's build another storey and add a crackin' good chippy then, guvna!

LL,

Ha! I think I've finally figured out who you are. Did you happen to submit a photo to Riptide within...oh...the last six months? Your secret is safe with me.

However, if I had the money, I have a lot of ideas that could take flight.

Which means you have zilch.

LL is Chris Fogel.

Or may be I am a parsimonious tight wad.
Or an empty tin.
Or your fantasy.
