Thank you council for having the common sense to stop these specious and frivolous delays of Harmony. The faux-enviros will stop at nothing to wreck our city.
Their two stooges Digre and Keener tried to pull it off but the adults prevailed.

Wake Up Pacifica 221, true who we vote for makes a difference.
Re: item 11, Lot 2, Harmony@1. Councilmembers MaryAnn Nihart, Karen Ervin (Mayor), and Mike O'Neill lead with reason, and passed the already stringent Planning Commission recommendations to allow the GreenPoint rating, with criteria to meet LEED standards without the certificate.
On such matters of development and progress in this City, the vote was again 3-2, with the no votes going to Sue Digre, and to John Keener (who again appealed the Planning Commission's decision).

Note: Councilmember MaryAnn Nihart is also Chair of the City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo, C/CAG. That is an important Board in this County.
From C/CAG website/about: "C/CAG works on issues that affect the quality of life in general; transportation, air quality, stormwater runoff, airport/land use compatibility planning, hazardous waste, solid waste and recycling. C/CAG operates as a Joint Powers Authority and has membership that includes each of the 20 cities and the County in San Mateo County."
-----
Citizen pacifica.com (campaign against 7-Eleven, Dan Stegick) spoke at this city council meeting, item 11, supporting the Gang of No (lunkhead) LEED only view. So, apparently he supports development, possibly similar to Digre and Keener.)

Endlessly entertaining that we have pro-growthers cheering for Harmony@1 and council's latest vote. It's a project that is nothing more than an enviro's idea of growth, ie, no real growth and no city revenue. Pacifica needed so much more from that parcel and now it's gone. Mostly to open space. Harmony is an enviro victory--one step up from parkland. Acceptance of this absolute disaster, cheering for it even, must do the heart good. Picasso would love Pacifica.

619, give it some perspective. This deal was over with about 10 years ago. However with eight (8) $5 million homes there will be additional tax revenue for Schools and the City.
The tantrum to require a LEED Gold certificate for each home was that of the citizen self-proclaimed project guidance architects who spoke during the meeting, (as well as other City NIMBIES).

So many productive parcels which could have been built in this City are gone, "mostly to (permanent) open space".
Not building the Quarry 2006 or 2003 remains the outstanding stupid events of this Pacifica century.

And as subtle as it seems, these City Council three (3) Nihart, Ervin, and O'Neill are the adults that keep this City from the potential disaster of the alternative two (2) Digre and Keener.

Kathy

Go back and see who endorsed Karen And Mary Ann. The same goons who wrecked the city and left it insolvent.

Kathy, the only thing to celebrate about Harmony@1 is that at least it's not a part of GGNRA.
As for our three "adults"? No one makes no-brainer, no risk decisions better. The city's share of property tax for a fully built and sold 50 million dollar Harmony@1 project is a whopping $75,000 yearly. Not per house. For the entire project. It must be PTSD from the bad old days that makes us giddy over such scraps. Is the quarry among Stupid Pacifica Tricks of the Century? Remember where you are. And, it's only 2015.

About those endorsements, there were 7 candidates running for two separate contests in 2012, here. And no doubt you'll be providing proof of those endorsements you claim, right?

Visit Nihart's 2012 Smartvoter page. Endorsed by Peter Loeb, Dinah Verby, Pete Shoemaker, Mike Vasey, Sam Casillas, Robine Runneals, Jennifer Ball, Tom Edminster, Cynthia Kaufmann, Manning-Vilar. etc. You already know who else these folks endorse and you also know what they're against. I don't condemn any candidate for seeking nimby endorsements because they can't win without them, but they do come with a price-tag. Then, again, sometimes they're a true reflection of a candidate's real worldview. Politicians can be real cagey about that.

109, well Mary Ann attempts to govern in the middle ground. The link, you didn't provide is here. Lots of officials, civic leaders, and other people on that list.

As you say, Pacifica continues to pay the "price-tag" for lagging progress, and being duped into 30+ years of not supporting positive development opportunities. Whereas, the talk of weak to non-existent "economic development" continues, along with imagined delusions of grand projects filling the uniqueness of this City.

Drive around the city and take a look around. Bad Streets, bad infrastructure, Bad Sewers and sewer plant.
