$12 bucks! You can get this breakfast for 3 people at Denny's for $12 Bucks.

Hell, they have a $2.00, $4.00, $6.00 $8.00 menu!!!

How un-democratic!!

"... 3 people at Denny's for $12 Bucks." Anonymous 1:02 PM

So eat there or not, and set-up whatever meetings you wish in something like a "free" park, on parkland, a private house, or anywhere you wish that will allow your meeting.

Attend the "State of the City" meeting in a nice, cozy restaurant (such as Sharp Park Golf Course restaurant banquet room) or not. The choice is yours. The choice to attend or not is very democratic, as is your waste of time repeated comment.

Anonymous nonsense comments like yours, if it were up to me, would be spammed. And considering your anonymous cover, the question is what is your sour, attack motivation? Not that some of us care.

You may be able to get a cheaper breakfast at Denny's but you can't attend the Democrats meeting there. On the other hand, you can attend the meeting for free and not order breakfast. It's your choice.

I don't understand what the cost of breakfast has to do with being un-democratic. Do Democrats want all restaurants to charge the same price for breakfasts? Is the Democratic platform that all breakfasts should be inexpensive, regardless of whether the restaurant is serving it in their banquet room for a local Democratic meeting?

Anonymous 4:39 PM, the issue is quite simple. Sharp Park Golf Course is a great place for a monthly breakfast meeting. That's the reason the Club has kept the same arrangement for more than 12 years that I know of. And the restaurant and chef have been most accommodating.

Who knows what or who Anonymous 1:02 PM is or represents, if anything. The restaurant cost chatter is a troll diversion. The speakers hosted by the Democrats usually bring-in timely information to the community, and everyone is welcome. The Mayor's "State of the City" address is no exception.

Troll is not an adjective.

"Troll", Anonymous 7:51 PM.

No "troll" is not an adjective, its a verb or a noun. Another cheap shot from an anonymous "troll" who thinks an alternative to hearing the "state of the city" from the mayor is a $4 "meal" at Denny's. Enjoy your corn flakes.

And here's the sentence: "The restaurant cost chatter is a troll diversion." Guess I was talking about you.

If troll is indeed not an adjective as you mention, your comments are grammatically incorrect.

whew, that's a relief! some other troll.

There are trolls under the bridge on Peralta near Bower. I don't think they blog, but I bet they'd like to.

Anonymous 9:32 PM, 10:11 PM, here's a reference for you: transitive and intransitive verbs. Knock yourself out.

Others may actually have something to say, while you dwell on $4 buck chuck at Denny's.

Anonymous said...

Kathy get something right for once.

Its 2 buck chuck at Trader Joes but I think they raised it to $3 bucks. Out of your league now.

In fact Trader Joes passed on putting a location in Pacifica. But you can go over to Daly City, Millbrae, South San Francisco or San Mateo and get some.

The link transitive and intransitive verbs points out the proper way you should phrase things. "Troll" is a transitive verb that requires a direct object. Here's where you're confused... That direct object is what is being trolled. The diversion is not what is being trolled.

Therefore, in the future you should phrasing such as "The person trolls the blog to cause diversions", as opposed to "a troll diversion".

You're welcome.

Nope, following the conversation above, I was referring to the $4 corn flakes at Denny's. (Too subtle huh?)

What annoys me about such grammar trivia is that others who actually have something meaningful to say may feel intimidated. And this anonymous "grammar police" troll, I believe was wrong, this time and last.

There's a huge difference in your comment which carries information, vs. the other Anonymous who attacked the "state of the city" address, then my comments. (The medium in doing that was cost, and grammar).

Anonymous 8:32 AM, sorry to say you're talking to yourself in a diverted dead end.

Your language description, "the person trolls the blog to cause diversions" is not what I said, nor was it what I intended to say. I said, "the restaurant cost chatter is a troll diversion," which refers to the Denny's vs. "state of the city" conversation, 5/17, 5:23 PM. Some of us would rather focus on the substance of the commentary. Try that! "You're welcome," your words back at you.

Kathy, please do not adopt the colorless, dull writing style peddled by the resident English scholar. Zzzzzzzz. It's unnecessary and it wouldn't be you.

I also agree with your comment about such grammar trivia being a barrier to participation for some folks. To me, it's elitist. Not everyone has the education, ability, or even the interest in producing perfect prose, however, nearly everyone has ideas and opinions. Sharing them in their own words and style should be good enough. If meaning is unclear, ask a question. Converse.
Leaving the soapbox now.

Kathy, you should also always disregard the prices on items when shopping and just pay whatever you feel. Additionally, please ignore the rules of the road and drive in any lane you please, even going the wrong way. Otherwise, you really aren't expressing your true self!

Kathy Meeh said...

Anonymous 9:09 AM, the mangled English issue is about you, not about me or anyone else for that matter. Your self-appointed high school grammar dictate is about you driving 10 miles per hour in a 50 miles per hour zone.

And when you have something less petty to say, please do so with your best English. Meantime, most of us will focus on issues (as you expressed it, "the road").
