Sue Speaks, Sort Of

Tonight Mayor DeJarnett completes 16 years of service to Pacifica. It has been a honor to be on City Council with him for twelve of those years.
Inspite of incessent accusations of lack of transparency etc etc about an alleged gang of four cronyism, you the Public recognized the truth and spurned those attempts of recall time and again.
Mayor DeJarnatt remained focused and did exemplary public decision making to the benefit of the whole Community. He deserves our admiration and appreciation.
I do hope you can attend this short ceremony at City Hall.
I noted during campaign panels that all the elected specified a dedication to the economy and the environmemt.
I am optimistic that with positive. problem solving attitudes Pacifica will weather any storms.
An alert, talented, caring and involved Community is our greatest asset.

Thank you.
Happy New Year!

You forgot to turn on the alien to earth decoder program.

I can not figure out what is worse:

This piece or posting it here?

I love how Sue and Pete try to tell themselves that it's just a very small group of malcontents who oppose their anti economy agendas. Even after their fellow enviro candidate Rich Campbell was defeated by a huge margin.

the ecology is our economy!

Why is Mary Ann, mayor pro tem once again? She was just mayor before Sneaky Pete?

Did she beat everyone arm wrestling for mayor?

It was Sue's turn to be Mayor Pro Tem but none of the other 4 would nominate her. Instead, Mike O'Neill nominated Mary Ann. I don't remember who seconded, but I assume it was Karen Ervin.

Wow, that maneuver is called the Cal Hinton. Now if only they could be that decisive on issues that actually matter. A coup over who gets the most photo ops in 2014 ain't much of a coup. Still...fingers crossed.

and so it begins...

Sue is already irrelevant. Pete and Jim are gone. Could we have dreamed the enviros would all be out a year ago?

Anonymous said...

Don't gloat. The enviros are just re-arming.
Frogs out, managed retreat in.

The city would have been much better off if Tod S. got on city council.

The nut job nobbes would have jumped!

If it was Sue's turn to be Mayor Pro Tem this council is batting 1.000.
Can we guess the new 4-1 majority isnt going to be going down the "our environment is our economy" road?

I wonder if Sue had her tin-foil hat on when she wrote this? And she claims to be a teacher! Holy toledo, can you imagine what the kids learned in her class. Certainly not how to spell.

Dancing on the grave is so uncool, particularly when nobody's in it.
They haven't left. They're hiding in plain sight.

Steve, when did Sue Digre make this comment and where? Was it at city council, in the Tribune, or in an email?

We've seen what an environmental NIMBY city council can do, and unfortunately it's permanent.

What a bunch of crap!
Petey boy, his gang of merry enviros and Consigliere Curtiss did more damage to Pacifica than anyone in it's 55 year history.
Our infrastructure is crumbling, sewers are pouring exrement into the aquafers, police and fire services are hanging on by a thread and no economy.
What planet is Sue on?
Good riddance Petey boy. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

There was never a recall of Pete Dejarnatt put to a vote. Sue is making things up again.

Anonymous said...

@733 you're the only one using the word 'vote'.

Anonymous said...

Sue the wise says: "you the Public recognized the truth and spurned those attempts of recall time and again"

either she means they voted down a recall, or the public illegally interfered with the legal process of petitioning for a recall. There was never a vote to recall Pete, so maybe you're right. She is tahnking whoever walked away with recall petitions from the post office in violation of federal law.

There are other meanings to what Sue said than the 2 you allow. An obvious one is that no recall attempt was successful in getting enough signatures to put a recall on the ballot - the public spurned them.

Your attempts to put words in her mouth are stupid and annoying.

Anonymous said...

there have only been 2 attempts to recall Dejarnatt.

One by the Watchdogs, who had their petitions "disappear" from a post office.

A recent one by the same guy (Siffry) who successfully got term limits on the ballot and voted in. There was not a lack of public support, just no coordinated effort to obtain signatures, and the campaign was abandoned from lack of internal support.

So seeing how neither of these had anything to do with a public rebuke at a recall effort, maybe you can illuminate us as to what Sue really meant.

I allso seem to recall Pete barely edged out Cal Hinton in 2008, but that was only because he lied about the city's financial reserves. And Tod S ran to siphon votes from Hinton.

The city would have been much better off had Tod S been elected.

BTW what did Cal do with all his years on council?

Anonymous said...

Woohoo let's make it up as we go along. Anon 130 has it right. Further, the most recent recall brain trust failed to gain the confidence of the voters and couldn't get the signatures-and I think Bernie saw the handwriting on the wall and wisely bailed very early on--leaving Ms. Dyer as the point person and voice of the recall. No bueno due to very limited appeal. Cal Hinton? Are we turning on him now? He was for many years the stalwart and lone voice for growth and fiscal solvency on the Vreeland dominated council. Skipped over for Mayor by that gang at least once because they could. Whether you agreed or disagreed with Cal at least you always knew where he stood. The man hadn't a clue or a care which way the wind blew. Now, they're all like tv meteorologists. Grinnin' and spinnin'.

Anon 217 what do any of them do with their years on council? This city is a joke run by clowns, petty little tyrants and major control freaks. And then we have the current ensemble..words fail. At least someone like Tod S. coulc get us a tacky reality show.

anon139 You should be in politics, really. You clearly can spin and grin with the best. What a load of sheepdip! Team Recall couldn't get people to sign that petition if they were givin' away iPads.

Anonymous said...

He/she who spins the best, or lies the most gets elected.

Like Sneaky Pete, telling fibs about the $$ surplus and tar balls to get re-elected.

Anonymous said...

@905 Sneaky Pete? That's your go-to isn't it? Get some new material.
Not to worry, there's no shortage in pathetica.

@905 "He/she who spins the best, or lies the most gets elected."

You got that right!
