Planning commission cancelled tonight, Monday 11/7/11

The Planning Commission meeting has been cancelled tonight due to lack of a quorum.  Jim Wagner has confirmed this information with George White, our Planning Director. The reschedule date is November 21st.

Jim's further comment:  "That means at least 4 of 7 could not attend this meeting?"  There must be a back story on this one.

4 attorneys on the planning commission. 4 attorneys sit and watch the Brown Act violated at the last meeting. Maybe the State Bar slapped them all on the hand.

actually "only" three lawyers on PC. However, since this PC has been found to violate the open government rules by the Dist Attorney, they all should resign.

Beating a dead horse. Those responsible for enforcing the rules love self-correction and the PC has self-corrected. No big deal.

The PC has NOT been found to violate the open government rules by the DA. The DA cannot make a "finding" that the PC violated the Brown Act. In fact, San Mateo County assistant district attorney Al Serrato decided to drop his inquiry into the alleged Brown Act violations. After the Planning Commission took action to undo its previous motions and discussions, the assistant DA concluded the remedial aspect of the Brown Act was met.

I dunno pilgrim. Why did PC cancel all their votes called out as an open gov't violation if they weren't guilty? A vote cancel has never happened in pacifica before. And the entire PC has to go through first grade open gov't training. Sounds guilty to me.....

The PC took corrective action which ended the DA's inquiry. The PC was never charged with a violation and there was no finding of guilt. The end.

BFD and sour grapes ltrs and political whoop di doo on both sides of the issue don't mean squat.
The city has removed commishes before and they could do it again but don't hold your breath since the DA dropped the whole thing.
