A funny thing happened on the way to free speech!!
Laughable!!!!
That is what I just said to myself after trying use my log on for Brent Platers ego inflating website WildEquity.org. I had signed up a while back under my real name and email address. I wanted the opportunity to comment on his false claims about the Sharp Park Golf Course and the people who support it. Well now, it appears that Brent does not like to be challenged about his mis-leasding statements, mis-truths and propaganda on all things environmental, especially Sharp Park. When using my log on it says "you have banned from this site and we think you know why".
What a crock of Frog Crap!!!!! Brent, why is it you don't allow yourself to be challenged? Has John Maybury been twisting your ear about us evil golfers? This is so typical of the extreme far left. Well, enough said. Brent, I invite you to come over to Fix Pacifica where you can say your piece without being edited or excluded.

Presidents Cup success
"Golf at the highest level and the beginning level should be at public courses."
Robert Trent Jones Jr., golf course architect, on the significance of playing at Harding Park.
The above is from an article in Friday's edition of the SF Chronicle from on the Presidents Cup held at Harding Park this past weekend. The quote from Robert Trent Jones, a great modern day course designer says it all I think.
The game of golf today, at it's core is a family game. One that can be played by any age at anytime.
Golf is not dead like the opposition would have you believe. All you have to do is look at the 30,000 + people each day with smiles on their faces this past weekend watching the pros. I was working the Presidents Cup as a volunteer and had a great view of the action and the crowds.
I saw kids with parents, kids with grandparents and a very diverse crowd. Men & women of all ages and ethnic groups were there to catch a glimpse of their favorite players. Of course Tiger had the biggest following of the weekend.
I will be writing a letter to Mayor Newsom urging him to fight for Sharp Park on the heels of this weekend's successful event. Of course I doubt the PGA Tour will ever come to Sharp Park but the one thing the Presidents Cup shows us that golf is alive and well.

Gavin Newsome at the Presidents Cup

I know that not too many of you may have watched the opening ceremonies of the Presidents Cup on Golf Channel yesterday but it was done nicely. One common theme that was spoken by Greg Norman, Fred Couples, the players and PGA Tour Commisioner Tim Finchem was what a great job Gavin Newsom and the City of San Francisco did in the restoration of Harding Park.
Now, while I may not agree with Mayor Newsom's politics and I am not a resident of SF, this goes to show what golf can do to a city. Newsom and the Park & Rec dept did an outstanding job there at Harding. The same thing can be done at Sharp's.
This tournament is going to seen around the world and now everyone will want to play Harding Park. When they come to SF, if they are a golfer, Harding will be a must play stop on their trip.
Oh, and by the way, the event is sold out for all 4 days. That's over 30,000 people a day watching 24 golfers. Who said golf is dead? Oh, that would be Brent Plater. Somehow I don't think a frog & snake park would get 30,000 visitors in 20 years let alone a 4 day event.
This event will raise over $3,500,000 for local charities, maybe more. Not too bad for 4 days.
Golf is indeed alive and well here in the Bay Area and especially on the north Peninsula.
