Hit and run accident, pedestrian killed, 100 block of Palmetto

San Jose Mercury News/Mark Gomez, 1/15/14. "Pacifica hit-and-run kills pedestrian."

"Police are searching for a driver who fatally struck a male pedestrian and fled.  At 7:42, officers received reports of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian, according to Pacifica police. Officers responded to the 100 block of Palmetto Avenue and found the male pedestrian in the roadway.  The man, who police say is about 50, died at the scene.

The suspect vehicle is described as a gray or dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Monte Carlo, Charger, or similar vehicle. The vehicle was last seen northbound on Palmetto Avenue towards Daly City, according to police.  Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Pacifica Police Department at 650-738-7314, or the anonymous tip line at 650-359-4444. Update - San Mateo County Times/Erin Ivie, 1/16/14, "Daly City man identified as man killed in Pacifica hit-and-run crash." "A 71-year-old pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run accident Monday in Pacifica was identified as Daly City resident Ishwar Patel, the San Mateo County coroner said."
