Half Moon Bay Review/Staff, 11/14/13. "Internet, cell connectivity problems plague Coastside."
"The Coastside was experiencing widespread cellular and Internet outages
Thursday and many Comcast, Verizon and Vonage customers were affected.
Several
customers who could access the Internet used Twitter to note their
displeasure early in the day, and by 5 p.m. complaints started to
trickle into the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Thursday night, the Sheriff's Office
issued a text alert noting the problem and a later press release said,
"technicians are testing cell towers to determine the root of the
problem and fix it as soon as possible."
In response, the Sheriff's Office
indicated it would dispatch extra marked patrols in Half Moon Bay and
around the Coastside in case it became more difficult for anyone to call
911 in an emergency."
