End of Summer, soon begin Fall, our Summer |
San Francisco About.com. Labor Day, the official federal holiday better known as the unofficial end of summer, is September 2, 2013.
Because thousands of Bay Area folks have decamped to Burning Man in the
Nevada desert, the three-day holiday weekend in San Francisco is
relatively empty and tranquil, with laid-back events and activities to
match.
Even the extreme sailing of this summer’s America’s Cup goes into
a Labor-Day lull: Young sailors compete in 45-foot catamarans to win
Red Bull Youth America’s Cup (September 1-4), while the real America’s
Cup finale doesn’t launch until Sept. 7.
Keep in mind that the long
weekend includes the first Sunday of the month, when general admission
to the Asian Art Museum and to the Oakland Museum of California is free.

Big Rib Cookoff in Reno, Labor day Rodeo's, Big Craft sale in Truckee.
Pacifica, has...... for Labor Day Weekend?
King's Mountain Art Fair going on in Woodside too. Fog Fest is coming up in a couple of weeks though. You don't really want to compete multiple local events.
We really ought to have another major event in May, maybe centered around A Taste of Pacifica? I dunno, build and expand on what's already successful is the easiest way to go about it, I suppose.
1 even fog fest.
Reno sure packs them in for Hot August Nights.
The Big Boat race in SF. The America's cup. Pacifica could have tried to tie into that, and make a few bucks.
Oh and the bike tour that came though town.
Bring Don Back!
As if.
