Ok ok so we know the union contracts are in closed session, but could we please have Ritzma and Council lead the employees in a rousing chorus of "We're in the Money"? Maybe change it to "We're in Your Money"?

Is this asking too much?

Woohoo! Alvin and the Chipmunks do a great "We're in the Money". Get the TV crew to play the boys at those dramatic council moments. Audible to the home audience only, of course.
Could there be a more appropriate song or group for City Hall?

$12,000 more wasted on this stupid 30+ million dollar library!

Plenty of vacant space around town for a library.

@804 Can't you see the glory of it all? It's political gold. The photo ops and media coverage? An oceanfront library. Wow. For one short moment we won't be the hillbillies-by-the-sea and the ass-end of every joke in the county. And then we will be, again.

More debt the city will not be able to pay back. meanwhile, king of the scootercons rants about an easement granted in 1972.

Ritzma failed miserably in all negotiations. We're almost bankrupt and she got a couple of holidays from the unions and no pay cuts for people making $10,000 a month. Get rid of her now.

Fire Ritzma? What for? Doing what she's been told by Council via Rhodes? She's universally despised by the employees but she's not the cause of the payroll problem.

Has anyone on this city payroll had an actual pay cut? Not talking about losing Ground Hog Day or Bake a Cake Day or some contract fluff they now have to pay out of pocket for. Not talking about deferring some previously contracted pay raise and disingenuously claiming to the public that it's a pay cut. How about an actual, apples to apples, cut in pay as in making less this year than last? You see any evidence of that in the numbers? Not even council took a pay cut. Ain't that inspiring leadership?

Ritzma? She reports to council through Rhodes and she carries out their instructions. Fire her and the next one will do just the same--whatever Council wants and then take the heat for Council's labor policy. Being a punching bag is also part of the job.
