Where's Cecilia?

I sent Cecilia an email today and got this reply, "This email address is no longer in service. Michelle Kenyon is the interim City Attorney. You can reach her at mkenyon@bwslaw.com"

Any further news about this?

Ms. Quick is home catching up on all her soaps. Guess there was just no time to say buhbye, Todd.

Michelle Kenyon is a partner in the public law practice, Oakland office, of Burke, Williams and Sorenson. She has worked for the city of Pacifica before.

Allegedly, the city attorney is no longer in service.
Waiting for confirmation; Tribune?, Fix Pacifica?; whomever.

Of note here is that Cecilia was not answerable to the city manager but was independent and answered only to council. She as city attorney was not influenced or could not be threatened by the city manager or the human resources/financial clone department head. If that dynamic is now changed... and the attorney services are in the hands of the city manager we could be in for a lot of politicized legal advise to suit the mood of senior staff.

Wasn't she the outside council for the City of Pacifica in the fish bowl lawsuit?

Oh Todd, quit speculating. It doesn't do anyone any good.

The city attorney is always hired by the city council and is not answerable to the city manager.

No, Ms. Quick hired other attorneys to defend Pacifica in court against Fromm. Ms. Kenyon did much of the work in that regard.

Todd, I respectfully disagree with you. The current City Manager is one of the most even keeled managers I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with six city managers in this town. Legal advise is just that, advise, and I would think you would want all aspects of City management to be involved to analysis the full scope of the situation and to prevent additional costs with lawsuits and outside attorneys. This complete picture would more than help Council make an informed decision.
