Pacifica community housing conversation, Saturday April 13, 2019

What is Home for All?
In partnership with San Mateo County's Home for All program, we are inviting the community to talk about the future of housing in Pacifica. This is a community-wide conversation and engagement program -- not a Yes or No debate. Everyone is welcome to share their thoughts and stories on the topic of housing! Please come out on Saturday, April 13 at the Pacifica Community Center and join the conversation. Free breakfast and child care services will be provided. RSVP at pacificaconnects.eventbrite.com.

no agenda, which is a red flag. Looks like typical happy talk. The video heavily promotes the free breakfast. I suspect an event tightly controlled by staff, table "discussions" homogenized and edited by staff. No open mike for a wider conversation. Maybe the dreaded post-it notes on the wall which get boiled down into generic observations. let's face it: no land for housing; no funding; no neighborhood buy-in.. and the ever vigilant "housing doesn't pay its own way" negative gang.

So come on down...sit with partisan folks who have never supported housing (and now want to move junk homeless RVs into our neighborhoods) Who are they trying to kid?

No thanks. More talk. Useless dribble. Build the Wall. Stop the drugs. Get the homeless cleaned up. Put them to work. #MAGA. There. Now do it.

Pacifica,a Sanctuary City, should contact Pres Trump, about stepping up to the plate and providing needed housing for illegal migrants crossing borders.

"Sanctuary City" is a virtue signalling machination -- with the purpose of evoking a specific emotional response. They don't really intend to follow up because they neither have the capability nor the capacity nor the moral desire to solve the problem.

How many undocumented immigrants can this excuse of a city handle when it is falling apart with 40,000 documented population, some portion of which is a sizeable tax base?

How do they intend to support these sanctuary seeking people and with whose money?

But hey, it makes us feel good and we get claim moral superiority!!!

Pacifica's Socialist hypocrites, phoney liberals and "I got mine's" won't let anyone build housing in Pacifica but they want us to be a Sanctuary City. Let's see them open their homes to these poor souls south of the border. NOT!!!

So President Trump ordered illegals to return to Mexico. Then a far left 9th Circuit Judge banned that from happening. Then the President ordered Sanctuary Cities to take in illegals. Pelosi freaked, and called her buddies. The next thing we hear is that another judge said it was okay to order illegals out of here back to Mexico. Is this true? If it is another genius move from our great President. #MAGA

over 50000 homeless living and pooping in the streets, they are refuges in their own cities and countries, anyone who ignores them and wants privliges for Illegals who already have a roof over their head in their own country is very heartless and needs to find prayer and ask for forgiveness.Homeless and vets are americas refugees and they need us now.

In Deep Sh*T .. how did we get here? How can this happen in one of the richest cities in the richest nation on the planet?

Fking bizarre. If San Francisco can't deal with it -- i am quite sure Pacifica isn't cut out for it.

"The report of my death was an exaggeration." - Mark Twain and San Francisco

The Local Libertarian said...

@Anonymous 10:37

Fact #1: Mark Twain aka Samuel Clemens died.
Fact #2: San Francisco had a whopping 28,084 reports of turds in 2018.

Sh*t Map of San Francisco

If you consider drowning in poop "feeling alive" .. I guess more power to you!

Google San Francisco IPO millionaires

What does it matter if I have all the wealth in the world and still have to dodge pavement pudding and used syringes while on a leisurely stroll for a cup of coffee?

Remember, all wealth is accrued for the sake of security and the ability to expend on "wants" (not needs).

Wealth is meaningless if a system that confers it is broken. Because at that point, its each to his/her own. And then there is neither security nor safety.

This is also why "Rule of Law" and a system that ensures personal liberty is important. And before you go off .. personal liberty is primarily not about choice. It is about personal security and an ability to exercise self-expression that doesn't infringe on others' ability without a challenge to personal safety!

Self expression may or may not infringe on others.
That's why it's called self expression.
Far too many Brain Police in Pacifica.

The Local Libertarian said...

If your self-expression infringes on others' ability to self-express while challenging their personal safety, i have a cot for you in San Quentin.

What is happening in San Francisco is blatant dis-regard for personal safety of regular citizens who are on and about their daily chores.

Lets ban plastic spoons, super sized cola's etc. But hey, lets hand out free heroin syringes because compassion!! f-u.

San Francisco hands out 4.4 Million needles each year .

The return rate is around 62 percent. Meaning, there are 2.5M syringes littered all over the city and piling up every year!

That is a sure sign of success because IPO and millionaires!

What does it matter? It matters because you are saying that San Francisco is dying when that is demonstrably not true. Buy a house in SF or rent an apartment. Highest housing costs in the whole US of A. That's not a symptom of a dying city. If it is, then New York is dying.

The Local Libertarian said...

@11:54 PM -- I said "dying" not "dead". Dying is a process .. and with cities it is a drawn out process. Cities can die. It is not unheard of. A City infested with pavement puddings, drug addict disposed syringes, homeless, broad daylight murders in the heart of business district is not a city that is "thriving" towards success.

Many of the plum engineering jobs are being shipped out -- thanks to near light speed communications. And many of them are being replaced with AI where possible.

The golden days are past.
