When former Pacifica Tribune Editor and Publisher Elaine Larsen died Monday morning, Jan. 12, Pacifica became a much poorer,
less compassionate place. Given her 26 years of watching the community
and writing about the Pacifica scene, she would undoubtedly have
appreciated a gathering of friends reminiscing about the stories she
wrote and the memories she created that so accurately define and depict
her profound commitment to this community.
So let us share the stories that shaped Elaine Larsen and those that she wrote which helped shape Pacifica itself.
A
community reception to honor and remember Elaine will be held on
Saturday, Feb. 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pacifica Community Center, 540
Crespi Drive (corner of Crespi Drive and Highway 1). Light refreshments
will be served.
Chris Hunter, longtime colleague of Elaine's and a prior Editor and Publisher of the Pacifica Tribune, will be the master of ceremonies.
Please
make every effort to attend and share your stories, either informally
among her many friends and family members or at the microphone so
everyone can hear.
Additionally,
a memorial fund has been established at First National Bank of Northern
California to assist Elaine's husband, Jim Carson, with final
arrangements during a trying time.
Kindly make your donation checks out to "Elaine Larsen Memorial Fund" acct # 09 142752.
Donations may be dropped off at First National Bank of Northern
California (behind Safeway at Linda Mar Ctr), or mailed to 1005 Terra
Nova Blvd, Suite A, Pacifica, CA 94044, or brought to the Feb. 7
reception.
