Two-alarm, 1-acre grass, brush fire on Terra Nova Blvd was suspected arson by a teenager


Fire is out, homes not damaged
ABC7 (Bay City News), 8/5/14.  "Pacifica firefighters quickly extinguish 1-acre grass fire." "PACIFICA, Calif. -- Firefighters quickly extinguished a one-acre grass fire in Pacifica this afternoon, a deputy fire chief said.

The fire in the area of 1240 Terra Nova Blvd. was reported at 3:06 p.m., North County Fire Authority Deputy Chief Frank Panacci said. Six homes were threatened, but not damaged. A two-alarm response was called and Cal Fire crews assisted in controlling the fire, Panacci said."
 
City of Pacifica/Police Department, 8/6/14, Press Release, "Arson suspect arrested". "On August 5, 2014, at approximately 2:56 PM, Pacifica Police and North County Fire Authority personnel responded to the 1200 block of Terra Nova Boulevard for a brush fire near residential structures. 

Upon arrival, officers obtained information regarding a suspect seen running from the area of the fire.  Officers subsequently located and detained a 15 year old female suspect.

Preliminary investigation into the fire revealed that the female juvenile intentionally set the fire.  The juvenile suspect was subsequently arrested and booked into juvenile hall for 451(C) PC, Arson.  The identity of the suspect is not being released due to her age.  Investigation into this crime is continuing by the Pacifica Police Department and North County Fire Authority.  Refer: #14-2701."

For such a small fire it sure had a lot of smoke. The whole back of the valley was smoked out.
