Here they go again

City Council agenda for next Monday, December 13, 2010

"Here they go again", city council, same stuff.  December meeting, city council always slips through items they might not want the public to focus on.  Last year, it was the Sanchez Art Center (give away) contract, the year prior it was the $98,000+ for Pedro Point trail.

3 year contracts for wetlands management:
1.  Habitat snake management in depressional wetlands areas..................$34,295
2.  Invasive ivy control upper Calera Creek...............................................39,000
3. Native plant control riparian corridor Calera Creek................................41,550
    Total....................................................................................................$114,845

Here's the Consent Calendar item listing:

The city's totally broke and they're spending money on non-essential items like this. Let the Center for Biological Diversity or Wild Equity fund this.

...oh, I forgot. CBD and WE only sue to TAKE money.

WTF?! $80,000 for what amounts to pulling weeds.

Way to go, Pacifica!

$80,000.00 for pulling weeds. Really? And to think that I was doing it for nothing. Someones in trouble.

What do I care about "snake habitat", not good for me. How about a few dead flies (that doesn't cost much). Meantime, I'm happy sitting by that froggie pond (paid for by the city) on upland GGNRA property. Happy holidays from Charlie!

Didn't school kids plant all those plants the first go around? What's wrong with them pulling the weeds!

Read the closed session. Why in the hell is this broke ass city giving away the Sanchez Art Center for below market rents????

Why doesn't Fix Pacifica send the people to the council meetings?

Because Anon 7:49pm Schlesinger=present? What's the point, the city is controlled by 3 city council members = Pacifica's version of "democracy", along with a sound economic plan: "taxes".

Also, I put-in several years doing just what you prescribe-- no one is listening, got it? Maybe its the "go to city council" turn for othes, good luck!

Want broader citizen understanding, continue to build Fix Pacifica blog with intelligence, maybe write some letters-to-the-editor-- now there's a plan.

BTW, thanks Steve Sinai for keeping this forum sane, including the Plater "all get together" article/pictures today-- that was a hoot.

Fix Pacifica isn't a business, and has no reporters on staff. If you want the blog to post reports on the council meetings, you're welcome to go, write reports, and we'll post them.

You can watch council meetings on pacifica community television or the PCT website.
