"Caltrans will shut down all lanes of Highway 1 at the Devil’s Slide
tunnels Friday night for its
second annual emergency response drill. The
mandatory drill will occur rain or shine
from 10 p.m. Friday through 4
a.m. Saturday. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway
Patrol and other first responders will take part. The exercises
involves crash, fire and smoke simulations.
Drivers can take Highway 1
north from Pacifica or Highway 92 east as alternative routes."
