And with no economy, this is what happens to our infrastructure!

  1. OK, who's that look like? The sue happy attorney, the ex-confused mayor from the 80's, or ________ fill in the blank. No names. Just descriptions.

  2. Looks like Caltrans to me

  3. LOL 2:14! In fact, that IS exactly what just happened in Burlingame at Highway 1 due to the negligence of a Caltrans contractor, which caused an electrical tower to crumble, sending live wires onto the freeway.

  4. This City would be made more perfect with a balance of development to provide an adequate economy. But as the article title, caption and picture illustrates: NIMBIES are the ongoing destructive Godzilla of this City. That is reality, and because of "all we don't have", that fact is obvious.

226, Construction isn't a perfect science, never has been. Unfortunately, human beings make errors-- just as nature does. (Caltrans oversee and manages transportation development, building and maintenance for our entire State. Could be your comment is petty and myopic.

  5. Actually Kathy, I was just quoting from the article you posted, which reported that "At around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, a Caltrans contractor struck a high voltage tower causing live high-tension PG&E power lines to fall across the lanes of Highway 101 in Burlingame." That article was accompanied by a picture of the downed tower, which looks remarkably like the tower in the Godzilla pic. that you used to illustrate "NIMBY" destruction. Surely you can't be so myopic that you don't see the humor in this????

  6. 214 A+. Sure to inspire the usual ho hum responses, but that big boy earns you an A+.

  7. Yes, ethical "balanced" development...like Harmony@1, posterchild for Nimby "I told you so". They're so embarrassed by their mess even their sign fell over! When the hillside slides down onto Fassler this winter I think we should name it Nihart meadows!

  8. 340, actually I have no problem with facts stated from the 8/29/15 article. But at 226, to that article quote you added your own spin: "LOL" satire, and "due to negligence of a Caltrans contractor". Negligence? Well, some accident occurred, but we don't know what happened.

BTW, this particular picture of Godzilla NIMBIES economy destruction comes from Jim Wagner, which I have since noted. All that dust may indicate there was a town behind those high voltage towers.
In any case, Jim Wagner's message was clearly stated in one (1) sentence: "And with no economy, this is what happens to our infrastructure!"
340, this article has too much text for you to read and understand?

You NIMBIES broke it (the City economy); now let us know you will stand-up and support the remedies to help "fix it". Otherwise, your continued Godzilla intentions and deeds to destroy our City are 30+ years transparent-- yes, we get it. Good, easy to understand article, Jim!

  9. Damn, no one can take a parody on this blog. Some may think this is funny. Some may think it's a jab. Who gives a shit. The fact is we lack infrastructure updates, the ability to attract good developers for fear of being put through the grinder, and we lack a direction in this town. If we are to be "no growth, no matter what" so be it. Then expect the consequences. If we want good sustainable growth then let's do that and not play a shell game with every developer that comes to town. No "bait and switch" crap. Work out a solution for God's sake.

  11. Godzilla is the underfunded city workers and retiree pension plan that is set to explode soon!

    You heard it here first

  12. Freddie, it's an older crowd. Maybe a sense of humor is the first thing to go?

  13. Wow, that's a big bare spot on the Harmony hillside above Cabrillo. Regular watchers say it hasn't changed in over two months. Just sitting there waiting for El Nino. Someone re-thinking their project?

Nimbies own this city, and not a damned thing you or Godzilla can do about it.

  15. Let's get one thing clear......
NIMBIES own nothing in this city except the property they live on, if that.
The only thing they own is better command of the propaganda machine that says,
"a broke-ass city is a good thing and stay away 'cuz I got mine".

    ReplyDelete
  16. @11 That must be it! And, for you, it looks like it's an insurmountable problem. You own property? Just dig a hole and jump in. Have a good cry.

  17. Kathy, Sweep me under the rug! I rest my case and go happily.

    Nothing is insurmountable.
This owner does not intend to dig a hole, jump in and cry.
Your stupid notion that we're all just supposed to bend over and take it up the ass from you idiots is a completely flawed idea which will be defeated some how, some way, some day.
    Party on.

  19. 952, 1145 what "parody" are you referring to with regard to the comment by "Freddie", 9/1, 6:28pm)?
Kindly explain for the savvy "older (and younger) crowd".

  20. 107 That's the spirit! Call it propaganda if it makes you feel better, but convincing the voters of the merits of your position is what it's all about. Unless you have a rock-star candidate and then it's not about the issues at all.

  21. The hill at Harmony looks no more of an eyesore than Mori Point did a few years ago when the friends of the frogs excavated the hell out of it. It'll grow back!

  22. 547 Grow back? It's supposed to grow houses. Or, is it going to be a park?
