  1. What are "Consolidation Departments"? What is "one half Sales Tax"? I didn't waste my time reading past these!

  2. 450/301, right, Therese Dyer is an advocate for Economic Development, and City progress. That wouldn't be you.

But, you did waste your time reading her disclosure, "I stand for": implement Citizen Review Panel, increase Enterprise Fund, Quarry development, resurrect assisted living complex/low income housing.

And you did read Therese's view of City Council past failures:
    1. Measure L which would have provided us sustainable and better quality of life was not fully supported by the City Council and is that which we are now seeking. This Measure included a Library, a Town Square, and a mixed Commercial and Residential development.
    2. The Fire Assessment tax.
    3. One half cent sales tax.
And that where you stopped (at 3 out of 16), because your time was so wasted...

  3. You're right - I didn't read them. And only scanned your version.
But looking at it again, I see I missed that she's running "for City Counsel".
Aren't flyers supposed to make more people vote for you, not less?

  5. 538 LMAO2 Maybe city attorney has become an elected office and she's running? IDK. I'd love to see Monty Hall run this city. Council Chambers filled with loons in costume. Maybe a gong?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm not voting for a barely literate candidate.

    ReplyDelete
  7. 648, you'll be lucky if you can find your way to the voting booth.

    ReplyDelete
  8. You're so wrong,Kathy. I'm normally with you, but not on this one. Pacifica needs to get away from being the butt of jokes.
If I had a vote to throw away, I'd rather do a write-in for Sister Boom Boom.

  9. 711, I'm only interested in substance, the votes at city council, the focused progress effort, the future of this city. We've had 3 decades of NIMBY brainwashing. That enough!

Therese is correct on the main issues, she is not a fraud, she will not play co-dependent with NIMBIES who have disrupted the balanced economic structure city.

Now you come back with Sister Boom Boom. And you say I'm "so wrong", and you're worried about others being "the butt of jokes". What folly, and selective imagination you have. But if it makes you feel any happier, the campaign sign grammar, spelling, content and design all look perfect.

BTW, you have not disclosed the candidates you will support and vote for, and why.

  10. Therese has done more for Pacifica in a month than Keener has done in the 7 years he's lived here.

She is against more taxes, the new library, and she's for more progress. That's all I need.

If you don't vote for Therese it's like voting for either Keener or Ruchames.

  11. Check out Riptide! Horace canned mayburrito!

  12. Therese's campaign is a train wreck. How anyone can read this flyer and think that's someone who deserves to be on "counsel" frightens me.

Totally embarrassing, but totally in line with Therese and her Galavanting Gadflies who rudely harangue council every two weeks.

  13. Horace did it because John disobeyed orders and endorsed Keener in his column.

Write Horace and tell him he did the right thing horaceh1@yahoo.com

  14. Measure V was an Utter FailureOctober 8, 2014 at 9:35 PM

During the late summer and fall of the year 2013 A.D., The High and Mighty of Pacifica tried to do a little number on you Pacifica While You Were Sleeping.

Therese Dyers opposed Measure V, which was, an Utter Failure. She gets my seal of approval. You GO girl!

P.s. Abe Vigoda is STILL ALIVE!

  15. Therese is a wonderful person and honest person that would do the job. She is all about progress and improving our quality life in Pacifica. I don't think I've ever met someone like Therese.

She is not afraid to speak up. She is not running to get pay. She is running because she truly loves this town and wants a better future for all of us.

Vote for her. She would do the job>

  16. My apologies, but I don't speak Cuckoo. Anyone here know what "unilateral sewers" are?

    ReplyDelete
  17. 954, interesting thing, when I Googled "unilateral sewers" up first came a City of Pacifica Resolution. And "unilateral sewers" was in the search description summary for this document.

Guess you've been too long wading in chicken sh#t, to learn much of any thing else.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 954 You can pick up a little cuckoo in Bavaria. Hey, it's Oktoberfest.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 825 Not true, you twit. I'd say get your facts straight but that's not your purpose, is it? Hinshaw's action had nothing to do with anything in Maybury's column.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes, Kathy @ 1053, "Unilateral Sewers" does bring up Pacifica first in a Google search - but if you actually read it, it's quoting Therese, in a comment she made at a city council meeting - which only makes it even more embarrassing!
(So who's wading in what now?)
Should we tell Therese that it's actually "sewer laterals"? Nah! Let's keep the joke going, but let's not let it get out of hand by actually voting for her.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kathy,

I see that you don't even bother reading the docs you link to.

Nice try at laying down a sick burn, but the only reason that document comes up in your searching is because it contains Therese's public comments to council and she uses the term "unilateral sewers" as she incoherently babbles about UFOs or whatever conspiracy is her flavor of the month.

Still have no idea what she's talking about, but since you're her #1 fan maybe you can let us all know?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Unilateral sewers was a screw job on homeowners and property owners by Cecilia Quick. Lets pass the buck over to the homeowner. The sad thing most cities are starting to do this.

Its a version of Cecilia pass the buck.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Um... that link comes up because Dyer is quoted using that bizarre term within the meeting minutes, not because anyone from the city used it in official correspondence.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 634, 315, still wading through the "unilateral" weeds? "Unilateral sewers", and unilateral in relationship to sewers is used in other articles. Since you searched, you should know that.

The link I attached (10/8,10:53 PM) directs to the City Resolution, and not to any citizen commentary. Whereas, you have not referenced or linked the commentary you claim.

At the same time, you omit or skip-over the direct focus Theresa has, such as being part of the City Council team to affect needed economic development in this city, including develop the quarry. Three (3) votes, and city council support is needed to move such proposed efforts and projects forward.

Your comments are pretty wild under "cuckoo" anonymous cover.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Kathy, why can't you admit that what Dyer says about "unilateral sewers" is a flub and move on? Why do you insist on defending the indefensible?

    ReplyDelete
  26. 634, 315, Oh my God, someone misspoke and used an improper word. Jeezus get a life. Talk about cuckoo, look in the mirror. I'd rather have Therese than a PHD with his head up his ass. Or a xcop wanting to help his buddies.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yo, Mr Anger Management,

City Council isn't some lark that you do to "stick it to the man." It's a very important legislative body that direct impacts peoples' lives. It also interfaces with state and county agencies, so some of us would prefer representatives who are: (a) grounded in reality; and (b) able to put two sentences together.

    ReplyDelete
  28. My favorite Dyer-ism is her repeated references to the "Deer Horn" decision.

    LOL

    ReplyDelete
  29. Therese keeps saying that she wants to outsource the city attorney.

Ummmmmm... isn't she aware that the city did this five years ago? Double-outsourcing? Or does she want to outsource the outsourcing by bringing it back in house? Or should I just give up trying to figure out anything Therese is saying?

    ReplyDelete
  30. 1038, who you talking about? Sue Digre, who has not only been on city council 12 years, but she has also been the Mayor. That's who you're talking about? Or, maybe you're talking about other city councilmembers who have sold-out this city to unproductive empty space, which would have better served this city as an adequate city economy. (And think about all that Redevelopment tax advantaged revenue, jobs, and services this city lost over 25 years.)

Therese Dyer is a candidate of the people: she's smart, she's inquisitive, she does research, she's ethical, she's tenacious, she's courageous, and her comments are grounded in reality. She has joined and led various civic organizations and even served on the county civil grand jury. She attends city and county meetings, and understands city and regional issues. That works for me.

957 made some astute comments, and I'm not convinced from any Anonymous comments (probably same person or same anti-Therese campaign) that "unilateral sewers" or "sewer laterals" are distinguishable. Not that such trivia really matters.

1038, the issues are: (a)economic development, and (b) highway widening. Focus.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You want an embarrassment? Sue Digre is it. She goes around firming up the impression that Pacifica is run by a bunch of nimby's against any new building. Don't forget, the 4 mill was lost by Sue's council. But she has no idea where it went.

Therese Dyer would be 1000 times better than Sue. Therese IS for progress, she is FOR saving taxpayers money. She's against City wasting money we don't have on libraries, consultants or un-needed expenditures. And she has a record to prove it.

Neither Greener or Ruchames can claim that.

  32. 1113, 1118 Yes, my children, yes! We'll probably be edited out, either before post or when the editor takes her second look, but yes yes yes! Oh yes!

  33. I'm voting Spano - O'Neill - Dyer

    ReplyDelete
  34. 140 Yes! Spano, O'Neill and Dyer. The SOD ticket. And, no, it's not because they're older than dirt.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Kathy, you sure you want to go with that image? In a chair and it ain't your favorite, rubber apron, sharp instruments on a tray, tiny room, drills. Grinning dentist. Just saying...gas me.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Speaking of Quarry development. Does anyone know what's happening at the quarry site? Looks like Pacifica Lenders, LLC has been recreated as of june and Ambit says the property is no longer for sale or development. What does that mean?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Don't be racist against the sewer unilaterals, that's discrimination.

    Look into outsourcing city counsel.

    I stand for:

    * fight battles from 15 years ago
    * no ketchup on hot dogs, only mustard!
    * 24 hour Matlock tv channel
    * widen ocean between quarry for better skiff and barge commutes
    * abolish grammar

    ReplyDelete
  38. 311 If only you were on the ballot I received today.

    ReplyDelete
  39. My guess is that SOD stands for "S"pano, "O"'Neill, "D"yer

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh 311, be still my heart. I so want to outsource city counsel. I'm completing my absentee ballot this very minute and LMAO.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My guess is you're no fun.

    ReplyDelete
  42. 320 Any SOD disturbance? That's what counts. The rest is just the suits.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Therese is smarter than current council members. She doesn't back down and knows she can be a better council person.Very courageous personality and vision for Pacifica is inspiring.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Therese is in favor of "consolidation departments". I think that means she wants to add more than one department in charge of consolidating departments. The first departments the consolidation departments can consolidate is the consolidation departments, because really, who needs more than one of those?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Therese's Idea of consolidation of departments could save the city a million $. It's a good idea. Public Works & Planning & Waste Water Treatment can be under one department. PB& R & Senior Services can merge.

This means instead of having a high salary director for each dept. you will have one director and several lower paid assistants. No extra work for anyone, but we could save a lot of money.

    ReplyDelete
  46. With all due respect to Therese Dyer and I mean that, couple observations about consolidating depts. The PB&R department includes Senior Services and Childcare under one director and several managers supervisors. Consolidating Planning, Public Works and the WWTP would be a real stretch these days. That salary would be hefty and you'd still need 3 managers to run the day to day operations in each dept.
Last but not least. The consolidation that comes quickly to mind is the one in 2007 when interim CM Bill Norton was asked by council to trim 1 million dollars from the budget. He came up with a consolidated HR and Finance position which was called Administrative Services Director.
Council voted for the change and left it, as they must, to the CM to pick either Maureen Lemon or Ann Ritzma. We got the Lemon only her name wasn't Maureen. Remember?
