Pete DeJarnatt will not run for re-election

Now its time for councilmember Sue Digre to step-down.
2 down, 1 to go.

At last night's city council meeting, Mayor Pete DeJarnatt said this will be his last term, his last year on city council. He will not run for re-election, Fall, 2012.

Same meeting, city councilmember Sue Digre made some "not our fault" excuses for the "no growth" economic disaster this city is facing. Her comments were out-of-touch with the 10 year reality of her city council tenure. Guess she forgot significant city economic solutions were not supported or championed by her, or then city council majority. The result, this city may fail.

Along with the others, its time for councilmember "our environment is our economy" Sue Digre to step-down. Councilmember Vreeland is gone, Mayor DeJarnatt is going. Does Council member Sue Digre really want to be the only 10 year councilmember left to be recalled in a very messy campaign?

Oh yay oh this IS a glorious day! A red letter day for Pacifica. A day to remember. Yay! Yay! Yay!

What else can happen? Peter Loeb moves to Oregon?

Anonymous said...

oh other unforgettable days are coming and Oregon may look better for us all

Hutch (321) on Riptide, Peter Loeb described Pacifica as rural, rather than urban, so he may move into a big Oregon city. The main problem I see with some "eco-bird watchers" is that no way should they we running a city. Guess vanishing Pacifica is proof of that.

Anon (317) don't worry no lambs were harmed in posting the picture.

Not those messengers, the 2-legged one from last night.

Oh my goodness - I thought this day would never come! Sue Digre - it's way past time for you to go, really.
Really!

When the welfare checks stop and the food stamp credit card no longer works..........the cities will be awash in blood.

This is what George Soros and his ilk want. Do you?

Hutch said...

Exactly Kathy. The environmentalists have run this city into the ground for ten+ years. Shoot it's more like 25 years. It's time fore some sensible people to run for council.

Secretary of Energy Chu says the Dept of energy working to wean U.S. off oil, NOT LOWER PRICES.

What will this mean to you? Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING YOU DO WILL COST A LOT MORE.

Anon (954), its just like you have step-out of a dark Twilight Zone shadow. "Blood in the streets?" What emerging country do you think you're living in? If you're referring to this developed country (the USA), we're still a humane society that works at providing at least a low-level safety net for the poor, disabled and old.

George Soros is a hero to many people, as well he should be. His professional background is described in Wikipedia: Soros Fund Management LLC hedge fund and international investments. George Soros is a super bright and successful world investor and philanthrophist, see video interviews. His philanthropic efforts extend to various causes worldwide "to improve the lives of people and human rights, justice and accountability": Open Society Foundation. Anon (954), Have you confused good with evil again?

Your unrelated "drop in" comments make the political far-right look really stupid.

Anonymous said...

If George Soros is your hero than you are an enemy to me and America. A very dangerous enemy.

Anonymous said...

Also, Anon, I can clearly see that you do not get out much or even read much. Much to your own downfall. When I read naive posts like yours it truly forces me to see that George Soros and his billions of dollars he has invested in brainwashing the American Media, Colleges, Public Education, Government, President, Blogs, that evil truly exists. He wants and is betting on America's destruction. Are you telling me that is what you want? I see George Soros and his well funded Agenda 21 all around in Pacifica. Enemy of mine. This is not a joke.

Anonymous said...

Sorros only donates to causes that further his socialist ideology. He does not donate to regular charities just to help poor people. There has to be something in it for him. He would not take the billionaire pledge like Gates and Zuckerberg etc.

The political far right are stupid. Even suicidal. And the kicker is the country they are so obsessed with saving has never existed.

Like wise The zany Yessie clan that lurks here. Those zany Yessie's and their twins the stupid far right.

Can't wait to see folks sporting I'M A ZANY YESSIE tee shirts.

George Soros in his own words. He views himself as some kind of God.

No, the enemy is you, as described in your ongoing far-right, whacked, unrelated "drop in" comments.

At 10:44am, you dropped-in another unrelated comment about oil prices. The main reasons oil prices have increased are related to 1) unsettled middle-east political conditions, and 2) stock market speculation. Similar high prices exist in other countries: Japan for example, see Wall Street Journal/Asia Business, 2/19/12.

George Soros for Pacifica City Council!

Anonymous said...

Yep, I'm with Todd Bray (1259) on his complete assessment of the political far-right, concluding with: "the kicker is the country they are so obsessed with saving has never existed."

The general United Nations criteria for sustainable development (possibly including Agenda 21) seems about right for livability in cities when possible: 1/3 environment, 1/3 economic, 1/3 social.

Anon (12:42), I think you will not understand the value of social benefits in a society until you draw social security, and are elegible for medicare. These benefits in a country of actual people need to be strengthened not diminished.

I never would have known. Did he do anything? Accomplish anything? Go to any meetings. Hell, people have seen me much more often than DeJar!

Anon 306, "Todd knows all?" Sometimes he does. He sure nailed his 1259 comment regarding the political far right: "the country they are so obsessed with saving has never existed."

Well, not here anyway. Many of our immigrant ancestors could probably tell you all about those kinds of countries.

Todd, didn't your mommy ever tell you that only stupid people call others stupid?

You love to name call. How old are you Todd? I'm guessing early 20's?

Anonymous said...

No silly, his mother told him the political far right is stupid.

Todd,
I am sick and tired of all the broad brushed characterizations coming from you and your NIMBY, NOBIE, faux Enviro, poverty loving, Pacifica hating, welfare recipient buddies.
Why don't you just move to Roswell Area 51 with all of your buddies and let us normal, regular people put Pacifica back together.

todd bray said...

Hahaha, Mike I'd have to boil you down for fuel to make that trip!

What's wrong today buddy? Finally getting up the courage to show us who you really are? The huffy buffy thing is old though Mike, it died with Drama.

But glad you finally came out of your closet. You should embrace your right wing-ee-ness Mike and let it flow, it suits you.

Hahaha,

todd bray said...

Oh and Mike, perhaps a plan of some sort about how you think Pacifica should look or be put back together would be a good thing for you to produce rather than your undiagnosed Type II diabetic rages.

I'm shocked. Boiling bloggers?

Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble
Fillet of a SF garter snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake,
Eye of newt!and toe of Red Legged frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and snowy plover wing,
For a charm ofpowerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble

Your Irish wit has deteriorated even more than Pacifica's infrastructure.
You young yippies will never understand us old hippies.

ps.
Todd,
You've got the right wing thing wrong too my friend. Obama's my man (except his wars- bad, bad, bad)
I don't see how a common sense desire for a viable self sustaining economy in Pacifica equates to any political bent.

Huffy buffy thing? Perfect. Todd wins on that alone. Bubble bubble.

Hutch said...

Yeah Todd, the enemy you perceive doesn't exist either.

Most people talking about Pacifica needing more development are Democrats like me, Not right wing tea baggers. My girlfriend and her 90 year old mother, a liberal democrat that hated Vreeland for his no growth policies.

You talk about the far right, but far left is just as dangerous Todd. Just look at the mess we're in if you have any doubt of that. Our crisis is mostly a result of a far left Council who gave everything to the unions while stopping most development.

And we're not "yesies" as you sophomorically state. We have opposed certain projects when their was real environmental concern or other reasons we felt strongly about. But we do not oppose ALL or most development as some of your friends do.

The problem with this town is "politics" Poly = meaning more than one TICS= meaning BLOOD SUCKING PESTS!!!! It is sad and downright discusting how so MANY MONEY hungry people here have NOTHING BETTER TO DO than to force us to pay for STUPID RECALL VOTE!!!! NO WONDER Jim Vreeland is ill ; he is probably sick because of all the IDIOTIC fools that think so backwards that live in Pacifica .. Wake up people like Kathy Meeh & the other PRO DEVELOPMENT non sense people!!!! Your constant nagging & COMPLAINING IS WHAT COSTS SO MUCH MONEY. These people constantly bemoan how Council Members should be more pro development ... THEY CONSTANLY WANT TO BE SAVED BY SOME BIG SHOT DEVELOPER!!!! LOL ; Being saved is all the selfish greedy ones ever want!!!! If is was not so pathetic it would be pure comedy. This is just a typical move to discredit those who do NOT agree with their backward NON thinking. Get a clue California blew up with "development" and look at the financial mess it is IN NOW!!!! Pacifica needs to really wake up & realize the MOST VALUABLE THING THAT IT HAS ... is THE BEAUTY OF its OPEN SPACES!!!!

It sounds like Todd is making comments about Jim's weight.

a) Isn't that a personal attack.
b) Did I just say that Todd is making comments about someone's weight?!?!!?

Kathy Meeh said...

Eileen, we tried it your way for 10 years, didn't work. No money. The city needs a balanced, economic infrastructure. We all live here.

Monday at city council Mayor DeJarnatt said the city neglected the sewer collection laterals. They knew it but no money (even though they hand the bill to parcel owners). Then, because of the 2008 sewer spill lawsuit (which also occurred as the result of no money), the city was forced to fix conditions of the sewer plant, including the sewer laterals. "Open space" and raw nature do not pay the bills or provide services when you live in a city. Ongoing city neglect is backward risk management, and not good for the environment.

And, yes, a big developer with a destination plan, such as the ones proposed 2x in the 88 acre quarry could make a huge difference to the structural health of this city.

And, why should an anonymous sniper expect any return comment except in like-kind? Be happy, when you are not accountable with your name and your commentary which includes "name calling", you may get the "respect" you deserve!
