  1. Kind of late for such notification. Let us know sooner Len and other candidates.

  2. Largest kick-off for a candidate I've ever seen. 60+ there when I stopped by. Lots of new, young, fresh faces. I could feel the energy. The old farts better be watching their backs!

  3. Lance:

Any idea what Stone stands for other than the Sunday afternoon fish and chips special and fresh, young fishies of the day?

  4. Is he the candidate that's a Tea Party supporter? Or is that Susan Vellone?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Who are the frog and snake candidates?

Who are the "I support large government and increasing taxes on the middle class Americans" candidates?

  6. I also attended Len Stone's kick off and no he is not a Tea Party supporter or a frog and snake candidate. He is the president elect of the Chamber of Commerce and someone who is a clear thinker with lots of energy. Susan Vellone is the President of the Chamber of Commerce, owns a business in this town (as Len also does) and knows what it is to try to get something accomplished IN TOWN. She is also not a Tea Party candidate. Sounds like some people are a little scared of the momentum they have gathered in the beginning of the race so the name calling and pidgeon holing is starting already. These two are what the City needs not the same old, same old so we all can keep paying more taxes and yes Leon and Clifford fit this category also.

  7. If Susan Vellone and Len Stone get elected for council would they have to resign the Chamber Of Commerce position?

"I also attended Len Stone's kick off and no he is not a Tea Party supporter ...the name calling and pidgeon holing is starting already."

It's not name calling if it's true, and Len Stone IS a Tea Party supporter, and quite recently was not shy about it. He even had a poster for a Tea Party rally taped up on the inside of his insurance business a few weeks ago.

The city council position is non partisan, but we deserve to know the truth about his politcal affiliation. Of course, if Len would care to elaborate on his Tea Party connections, we are all listening.

  9. Len Stone is a Nazi, a KKK member, a drug-addict, and a wife-beater. I personally saw him squish a red-legged frog with his foot.

  10. "largest kick-off for a candidate" - well I guess you did not attend the one for Mary Ann.

  11. I had tea parties when I was a little girl.

  12. "Len Stone is a Nazi, a KKK member, a drug-addict, and a wife-beater. I personally saw him squish a red-legged frog with his foot."

Detective @5:03pm that's terrible that Len "squished a RLF".

Personally I don't care about Len's national politics one way or another. The question is whether he's "right" on the issues in Pacifica. His candidate statement looks good, and since he runs a financial business he can probably "count". Chances are he'll be more motivated to produce a better economy than the incumbent 8 year "our environment is NOT our economy" city council-- so its time for them to "left".

BTW, my unofficial survey of Insurance Agents is that about 98% of them are Republicans (easy guess). How's that Lois?

Its also been enjoyable, interesting and informational to hear comments from city council candidates Heather Tanner and Tom Clifford.

  13. It's important to know every candidate's political values, attitudes, and beliefs. It tells you a lot about how they understand the issues and how they will make the tough decisions. You can dismiss or make fun of that all you want, but you only fool - or make a fool of - yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Lois..."YOU'RE CENSORED!"

    ReplyDelete
  15. Let's see, there's Len Stone Sr and Len Stone Jr. One is a tea party dude, one's not. And who gives a GD. If anyone thinks we don't need a change of this soiled underwear we call "the incumbents" then go dig a hole and invite some more of your forest fairies in for a schroom party.

  16. Hidden and mysterious Anon 6:49pm, to my "lite" comment of 6:26pm, you said "you only fool - or make a fool of - yourself." How about you follow the instructions of Mr. Frodo 7:26pm.

This is America, cancel my vote after censoring our friend, Lois. After the overt financial disaster of the past city council 8 years, some of us are looking for change, 180 degrees change would be good.

  17. So it doesn't matter how extreme or radical or ridiculous or crazy a candidate's political views are, as long as they're the opposite of the current Council. I guess you'd vote for Osama Bin Laden if he was running.

    ReplyDelete
  18. No, but I bet you would.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I endorse the current Council. Allahu Akbar!

    I endorse the current Council.

I support current Council. I buy all your weapons and aircraft. I buy all your woman and little boys. Pacifica will sell me all open space to build me my mega mosque.

  22. Ahab, you and your buddies (the current city council) have financially torched the city where you live. That would be so sad except you torched your tents as well. Now you're out on the sand, and the Obama theme is running a bit burnt too.

In any event, as Markus said "time for a change".

  23. I for one would not choose to put a 29 year old Tea Bagger in charge of Pacifica-it would be like electing Bristol Palin for mayor. If you don't like the incumbents, there are 6 other candidates, and each is more experienced than Len Stone Jr.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Len Stone got no major endorsements... he didn't state his party-- is he Libertarian?

    ReplyDelete
  25. According to Smart Voter, Stone was endorsed by the San Mateo County Times and SAMCAR. And I doubt a "tea bagger" would be a member of the the Golden Gate Business Association- America's first LGBT Chamber of Commerce.

If you talk to him, he hardly comes off as any kind of reactionary.

    ReplyDelete
  26. None of the major parties endorsed Len Stone. I wonder why?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Maybe he's a Decline to State. Given the way people perceive political parties at the moment, a party endorsement isn't necessarily a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Len walked my neighborhood this afternoon with a flyer. I'm not voting for Len but I got to give him credit for the effort he's putting in.

    ReplyDelete
  29. hey Todd

If Lenny brought you some lunch you would have voted for him

    ReplyDelete
  30. The long list of endorsements for Vreeland mean what?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Endorsements don't mean anything. Or do they?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I saw Mr Stone walk my neighborhood. You got to give credit to a candidate that does this type of campaigning. Also, it is a great way for him to get to know everyone and the neighborhoods, shows me he is serious and not just playing around. Sitting council and Democratic Endorsed Candidates always have it to easy campaigning and rarely do any real hard work to get voted in, they just assume people will vote for them because of their endorsements, and it works. I am voting for Len Stone.

  33. To SS, Tea Party Patriots have no problem with same sex marriage. It is only people like you who want to keep everyone in a box, otherwise your head would blow up. I know your types. Under our U.S. Constitution Gays have the right to marry their same sex. Many Gays are Patriots and are Tea Party Patriots. Please, don't wet your pants over this information. Vote for Len Stone!

  34. I have seen Len Stone campaigning all over town. I've never personally met the other candidates. I am convinced that he truly wants this and wants to fix Pacifica. He has enthusiasm, great ideas and is a fresh new face. He may lack the experience of our current incumbents but then again, what is so successful about their 'experience'? Definitely voting Len Stone!!

  35. One thing I do like about this blog is that diverse opinions are expressed and not "buried" although some are met with much derision.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Some one is vandalizing and tearing down other candidates signs (not those of Stone), is that you Stone enthusiast? Think you're helping Stone? Turn yourself in and collect $500.

With "friends" like you, I'm not voting for Stone.

  37. Anon, you're a dork! Obviously, you're from the "North" of town because someone did a job on Len Stone's sign on Fassler. Infantile attacks like this only reinforce what's wrong with this town and points the way for the need for new leadership. Quit being self serving. It's infantile.

Or Sarah Palin. For reference, see Meg Whitman's reaction during last night's debate question about Palin's visit to California.

Len Stone, Jr. is running for council.

  43. I love the word "dork". Thanks Lance.

  44. Len Stone Jr. is Libertarian candidate, tho we're still not sure about that - perhaps he is a tea 'party' candidate. Although for some reason it was not on his campaign literature. We know he was not endorsed by the democrats or the republicans. Libertarians want to get rid of the 14th amendment and Social Security -- Tea Party wants to get rid of Social Security. Guess it doesn't matter whether Len Stone Jr is Libertarian or Tea Party - a lot of the views are the same.

  45. "Dork" Anon, and I thought the dumbest comments came from Jim Alex today. Nope you won that award.
