RE Item 13 Why is the city considering hiring Environmental Science Associates, a totally partisan group recommending elimination of the SHARP PARK berm and allowing intrusion of sea water into Laguna Salada, the golf course and surrounding homes and businesses? Didn’t the city of San Francisco just go thru a very expensive fight to protect that pond as a frog and snake nursery? Why should the taxpayers of Pacifica pay ESA and Batallia $185,000.00 to recommend a non solution? Why can municipalities around the world build sea walls that protect them for centuries but we can’t get it together to build one?

The reason why, is that we have a dishonest, manipulative and illegitimate council majority doing the bidding of a small, well organized and loud group of eco-bullies who want to turn Pacifica into their own personal wetland. Battalio has provided the so called "data" to take down the golf course, sink the library, stop improvements on Beach Blvd and now create the Sea Level Rise narrative for the final assault on Pacifica.
He's their 'boy" and he can't wait to take our tax dollars for his dirty work.

Sharon, It is because they have an agenda. To eliminate us. That is the bottom line. This wako enviro has to go. We will vote out all who have an agenda to hurt us.

10:10AM....Who will be the candidates who will be voted in when you vote out those with the hurtful agenda?.

Dan Stegink was appointed 3-2 to the Planning Commission last night. He seems to be the one who is being groomed (and rewarded?) by Deirdre and Keener for Sue Digre's seat in 2018. Who will run against and prevail against Dan Stegink if another one of my prophecies is realized?

You need one candidate into Sue Digre's termed out seat in 2018, unless the council majority were to somehow overturn term limits. They might want to try that. Getting the Digre seat and vanquishing Keener might be too ambitious.

"Stegink appointed 3-2 to Planning Commission." If we ever needed proof that these corrupt
eco-ideologues stole our election and then our city, this is it.
Stegink has been rewarded for carrying out Deirdre's dirty little election scheme to dump Mary Ann.
Next they are rewarding Bob Battalio with a bag full of our tax dollars for his pseudo sea level rise science to kill our golf course, block the library and pave the way for managed retreat.
This insidious group of bullies buried their ethics in the city hall parking lot and won't stop until they've shut down Pacifica.
Where is the moral outrage?

With the Trump/Bannon/Miller/Gorka crackpots diminishing America from the right, and the Keener/Martin/Kaufman/Battalio crackpots diminishing Pacifica from the left, I'm too depressed to be outraged. Maybe we're getting to the point at which none of it will really matter any more?
On the other hand, if we become a sanctuary city and all federal dollars stop and then the county has to take us over, the crazy agendas will disappear, fiscal responsibility will be restored and we can start all over again. We'll just have to try harder to not let the same stupidity that got us here happen again.

Those in the far left are well organized and have a long term strategy in place.
Those in the left of center, center are not organized but generally acquiesce to the far left. Those in the right of center, middle of right are not at all organized in Pacifica. And neither do they have a long term strategy.

I think Pacifica is doomed unless (and ironically) the city runs up its debts, goes bankrupt, is unincorporated and absorbed into the county.

Better yet, just take the whole coast-side from Pacifica to Pescadero and re-incorporate it into one large city. But that is all wishful thinking/pipe dreaming.

10:16 I can't disagree with you but you but I hope you realize that you are preparing yourself to accept a lot more darkness than we currently face, before dawn. This is going to cause a lot of heartache, pain and financial distress on all Pacificans. Young, old, rich, poor, healthy and disabled will be forced to subsidize the ideology of these sick selfish bastards.
This is the worst I've ever seen in Pacifica and I've been here over 60 years.

The crazies; Keener/Martin/Kaufman/Battalio just added another toxic chemical to their soup, Stegink!

Dan is on planing and you carpetbaggers are not.

So go cry in your beer!

6:36 Dan,I was wondering how long it would take you to post here. Trump would be proud.

Dan, YOU are the carpetbagger. Nice try at obfuscation.

The city council has hidden agendas. For their choice on the PB&R Commission item 15, they ousted the incumbent who I heard was very active in the community. With zero discussion they unanimously voted to replace him with someone brand new, Something shady going on.

Go Dan Go, Now we can all see clearly what an idiot you are! Thanks for being a huge part with helping Keener, Martin and Digre with destroying our city! Lets see how much faster you can screw more things up!

What a great accomplishment, Dan was the only applicant, had to extend the process so that other's could apply! Another bad joke on the citizens of Pacifica.

I believe there is one man in town who can beat Dan Stegink, and that man is Eric Ruchames.
He's a BOSS!

Mary Ann had a lame campaign, no offense. I don't think she would have won even if the Hatch Act stuff did not come to light. Mary Ann was too wrapped up in regional matters and forgot about the Pacifica environmentals who along with supporters of Jim Vreeland, put her in office in the first place. Deirdre had a better campaign and cute baby. I was born in France and know that those with cute babies in their campaign literature cannot be beat. Just saying.....

Who cares about PB&R appointments, Planning is a platform for future councilmen.

Ironically enough, the things that are happening in Pacifica are a microcosm of what is happening nationally. People are angry at things that personally affect them, and so blamed the leaders currently in charge only to see devastating and far worse things happen to their country or their city. Ms. Nihart may not have been 100% perfect but she was highly capable, experienced and influential on a local, regional and statewide level. Pacifica has lost that influence and the confidence in their decision-making and this matters. What we have now is a majority Council of inexperienced people that are harming this city in ways that will only be realized when it is too late. Hope to be wrong and wish them luck in improving the condition of this beautiful but needy community that can't take care of itself or its people and the current majority council expresses no vision of doing so in the future.

Thanks! I needed a good laugh and Pacifica never fails to amuse. Kudos to the one or two posters who keep these same old fires burning year after year after year.
