Pacifica - nothing fun to do in the early AM except shoot at dumpsters

Where's my dumpster target?
Recology and your mom would say this is a really bad idea.

Silicon Valley Mercury News/Bay City News Service, 4/27/12.  "Two arrested on suspicion of drunken target shooting in Pacifica."

North of the Pacifica police station, about 3:45 a.m. "Two men were arrested and a third detained in Pacifica early today for allegedly shooting at a Dumpster with a rifle while intoxicated.

Oh, there it is, I can see it!
The suspects, all of whom were Pacifica residents, said they were shooting at a metal Dumpster for target practice.  Police arrested Cosmos Rothenberg, 20, on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm and public intoxication, and Ryan Lenahan, 20, on suspicion of public intoxication. The third subject was released at the scene."  Read Article.

Note:  The same Bay City News Service article was also carried on Pacifica Patch earlier in the day.

Will Recology offer that dumpster at a discount since if it has bullet holes? Those suckers are expensive!

These guys give all responsible gun owner a bad name. Alcohol and guns should not be mixed.Target practice in an urban area is just crazy.

That was pacifica's attempt to start it's own army reserve. So what if they were drunk and it was 3:45am, they practice at that time so as not to alarm John Maybury who would piss his pants at the site of a gun.

Fix Pacifica's Submission and comment policy:
"People may comment anonymously, but any comments that degenerate into 1) personal attacks against individual blog participants; 2) incomprehensible gibberish; or 3) attempts to turn conversations into grade-school playground brawls, will be removed."

See above comment re: John Maybury.

Anonymous 1004, quoting blog policy against a silly comment. I vote for removing the officious 1004 comment.

I vote for the comment to remain. Not a personal attack. Just a possible truth. haha

FYI: Mayberry deleted my civil comment about his buddy Pete Loeb and he left Pete's comment saying I was ignorant up. Far left liberals aren't known for integrity.

Obviously, you're a little unclear on what constitutes a personal attack.

I thought the comment in question fell under the category of "attempts to turn conversations into grade-school playground brawls"

If anyone knows the dumpster in question, please let me know!

Sounds like it's at Shelldance Nursery. I believe that kid is their son

"dumpster in question" (Chris Porter, 2:23 pm)

Chris, interesting point. Possible destruction of Recology property, another potential bill to be sent to the perpetrator, Cosmo. Already jail, court, fines, DUI, underage drinking and wild behavior on his record. Plus the humiliation. Not so much fun after all. Bet he and his friends will never do this again.

What Tom Clifford said at 7:24 am about being a responsible gun owner is worth repeating: "Alcohol and guns should not be mixed.Target practice in an urban area is just crazy."

Chris, the police probably know the location of the dumpster. If not and if its the property of Recology, you'll probably be looking at it soon. (Wouldn't we all like to know what the dumpster looks like now).

Shelldance Nursery Owners' Home Destroyed
By Elaine Larsen, Pacifica Tribune

A lifetime of original and collected artwork, rare books, poetry and manuscripts literally went up in smoke when fire broke out late Friday afternoon at the home of Nancy Davis and Michael Rothenberg

The couple's son, Cosmos, 13, and two high school-age buddies had just come home from school and discovered the fire. . .
